Episode 43

EP043: Special Guest Mandy Gorst from Nantwich Holistics

In this episode of the Happiness Hub, I spoke to Mandy Gorst, a professional massage therapist and qualified Bowen Practitioner and Scar Worker. We talked about the work she does with her clients and the different therapies she offers and of course what she does to look after her own mental health and what makes her happy.

In 2010 Mandy became a member of the Healing Hands Network, travelling to Bosnia to work with civilian survivors of the civil war suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and physical injuries. When she returned to the UK she pursued her interest in working with UK forces suffering from the physical and mental effects of war.

In doing so, she became more interested in how PTSD affects people and began psychotherapy training in order to become more holistic in her work of treating the body and the mind.

Mandy is currently working towards practitioner status via Human Givens and is offering FREE therapy sessions for (anonymous) case studies.

So if you are troubled with mild to moderate anxiety and/or depression, have a phobia or anything that you feel a few free sessions of psychotherapy could help you with. You can contact Mandy via her Nantwich Holistics website or call her on 07904 520890.

You can also find Mandy via her Nantwich Holistics Facebook page and down at our Happiness Hub Well-being group most Tuesdays.

Kedren Elliott

My name is Kedren, yes Kedren (my name is a bit strange, like myself).

I'm currently finishing my final year's training to become a counsellor and work at North Staffs Mind.
I'm also someone who has struggled with my mental health and lived with friends and family who have also faced challenges.

Through the happiness hub, I really want to help as many people as I can to find ways to live happier. It doesn't have to be complicated, there are little things we can do every day to help with our mental health and feel happier.

So that's a bit about me, but you can find out more by listening to our Hub Podcast!

Liz Parkin

I'm Liz, Kedren's podcasting side-kick, close friend and gin-buddy for over 10 years.

My mental health challenges started in my early teens and continued through a rather traumatic year in 2004.

It was at this point that I discovered Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) which quite literally changed my life - or maybe my perception on life...

In this podcast I will share with you some of the tips and techniques that I learned whilst training for my NLP Practitioner and then Master Practitioner over 14 years ago. NLP got me through some very dark times and given me a bag of mindset tools and strategies to help me keep my mental health, well... healthy!
